In his role as Offshore Manager, Eoin is at the forefront of the establishment of the offshore industry in Ireland, working on Energia’s North Celtic Sea project located off the coast of Wexford and Wicklow.

These projects are among the most advanced of their kind in the country and could provide up to 1600MW of renewable offshore wind power capable of generating enough green electricity to power over 1 million homes and businesses.

He added, “My focus on renewables is centered around being able to effect positive climate action and to bring about large-scale projects that can have a significant impact in decarbonising the energy system and progressing SDG 13 Climate Action. Working on offshore also provides a great opportunity to help enhance the local area from a socio-economic perspective and in terms of biodiversity regeneration.”

It is a really exciting time to be working in the energy sector as an engineer, helping to design and develop solutions to one of the greatest challenges of our time, the climate crisis. Engineering is a fantastic career that is rewarding and challenging in equal measure and if you are a problem solver and enjoy working with various stakeholder to design, build and deliver then engineering could be for you.
